♦ Hasami-yaki (Hasami Ware) is a type of porcelain produced in Hasami Town in Nagasaki Prefecture, Kyushu. It is a traditional handicraft that was first produced over 400 years ago and remains popular today as practical tableware for daily use. The most notable features of Hasami-yaki are the beauty of its white porcelain and quasi-transparent indigo underglaze blue.
