Tsuki no Katsura is one of the oldest sake breweries in Fushimi, the most famous sake region in Kyoto Prefecture, Japan. The name “Tsuki no Katsura” originated from a poem written by a court noble called “Anenokoji Arinaga” who visited the brewery in the late Edo period (1800s). Founded in 1675, this small family owned business has been brewing high quality sake for 14 generations and is well known in Japan as well as overseas. Over the years, this brewery is loved by many famous artists and writers and their sake is often referred to as the “sake for cultured people”.
