The Saito family had been running a kimono business in Fushimi, Kyoto since the Genroku era (A.D. 1668). In 1889, the 9th generation, Sotaro Saito, changed his business from kimono to sake brewing. In 1912, the business started to trade under the name of “EIKUN”.
Combining modern technology with meticulous sake brewing techniques passed down through the generations, EIKON won numerous awards in domestic and international competitions, including the Gold Award at the International Wine Challenge (IWC)
